Mystery Science Theater 3000 - Turkey Day


For many years, Mystery Science Theater 3000 celebrated Thanksgiving by having "Turkey Day" specials on the Comedy Central cable channel, where they would show the biggest movie turkeys they could find. It was also to celebrate the anniversary of the airing of their first episode, which premiered on Thanksgiving Day in 1988.

13 Hosts - The Comic Book


The artist Brian Maze is currently working on a horror host comic book which will feature thirteen different hosts called 13 Hosts - The Comic Book. The book will include artwork by Brian of the hosts as well as a profile about them.

Some of the hosts that will be included are Dr. Sarcofiguy, Mr. Lobo, Ms. Monster, Karlos Borloff, Count Gore De Vol, and Penny Dreadful.

It is expected to be out in March of 2010.

Nightmare


Gorgon the Gruesome hosted Nightmare on KFJZ-TV, Channel 11 in Dallas, Texas. The show began in September of 1957 and ran until 1959 and returned for a short run in 1962. Also, KFJZ-TV unearthed Gorgon for Halloween specials in 1972 and 1976.

Bill Camfield, who played Gorgon, passed away in 1991.

Shilling Shockers - Possessions


The sixth episode of Shilling Shockers' seventh season is called Possessions. In it, a brash businessman asks Penny to create a magical living doll for his spoiled daughter. Penny Dreadful agrees to do so, in exchange for an unspecified favor in the future. This episode features a 1970's mock-trailer by Bob Kensinger, entitled The Dolls, an interview with DJ Chris from the Radio of Horror show, and the movie Cathy's Curse.

Late Night Fright Theater was broadcast on KVIQ-TV Channel 6 on Saturday Nights in Eureka, California from September 18, 1982 to some time in 1985. The host for the show was Spookman Dan Tucker, who showed many classic horror movies during his run.

Chris Jericho Versus Mr. Lobo


At the recent Sacramento Horror Film Festival, Mr. Lobo, from Cinema Insomnia, hosted a question and answer panel featuring WWE wrestler Chris Jericho. During his time on stage, an allegedly inebriated Jericho flung racial and homophobic insults at Mr. Lobo and the audience. A few days later Jericho issued an apology and Mr. Lobo held a press conference challenging him to a wrestling match.
